Renting - organiSIM.com

Buying a house just-in-time is not going to happen, so it looks like we're going to have to rent. Pying someone else's mortgage for them doesn't really appeal to me, but the flexibility and time should be a bonus - it could even save money - maybe(?) - by giving us greater time to save capital for the house.

Renting? - Beware of:

Things to watch out for: fees, fees, fees.... breakages deposit...extras, bills (rates)... etc
-when moving in, photograph & record *everything*

Provisionally, I think we are looking for the following spec:
Private rental agreement - through a private individual rather than an agency (see below) - contact info in paper & in notices in Tesco & Co-op
We could commit to 3months(?)- this might suit landlord as new tenants/"students" may move in at end of summer.
One bedroom
not furnished
openplan kitchen/reception-room
max budget (inc bills): £600/mth
-for this we should get a good, convenient area - (off Lisburn Road??)
parking
parking for bike?

from propertynews.com:(the links probably won't work)
236 Malone Road, near house of sport - £465/mth, Goldsmith Estates - went to see this one, the woman was late & had brought the wrong keys. Also gave us hassle with contract "it's a standrad contract drawn up by our solicitor" - "standard"? - maybe for them.
93 Lower Windsor Avenue, near Tescos on Lisburn Road - £450/mth, Eric Cairns
Adelade Park (nice address) - near Lisburn Road PSNI, £425/mth, Limited/Homechoice.
23 Northbrook Gardens - near Windsor Ave, £400/mth, Eric Cairns.
