  • how much should I spend? - 2 month's salary?
  • diamond quality - VS1, VS2, SI1 or SI2 - get jeweller to point out flaws with "loop".
  • diamond colour - G to J - ask to see colourimeter print and or reference stones + check about clarity enhancement & certification
  • diamond cut - by sparkle - step cut of brilliant or "ideal" cut
  • diamond size - .5 carat = 50points, = 2grains, =100mg, = $1500
  • diamond size - 1.0 carat = 100points, = 4grains, =200mg, = $5000
